YouTube Shooter Identified As Iranian Woman Who Complained About Censorship

Could The Return of Repression Cause a Rise in Crime?

The woman who shot three people at YouTube headquarters in Northern California has been identified as Nasim Aghdam

The woman took her own life after the shootings. She was found at the scene and appeared to have killed herself with a handgun, but the investigation is just beginning, San Bruno Police Chief Ed Barberini said.

The motive of the shooting is unclear however Aghdam has complained about censorship by YouTube on several occasions in several of her videos.  Here is an example of this in a video that was taken from her youtube account before YouTube disabled it.

Aghdam’s Facebook and Instagram were also disabled at approximately 8:45pm PST on Tuesday following the identification of the shooter being published.

YouTube censorship has not been confirmed as the motive behind the shooting however several thousand YouTubers have been complaining about the recent rise in censorship by the tech firm.

Aghdam made some pretty strange videos outside of the ones complaining about demonetization by YouTube.  It appears that Aghdam may have also been a vegetarian with an extremely odd way of expressing this.

In the video below she she flashes a paper sign that has the words “Meat is murder” written on it.
