The Truth About Tim Scott, and Why He’s Really a Democrat

Although the midterm elections are still over a year away, former President Trump wasted no time endorsing Sen. Tim Scott  for reelection.

“It is my great honor to give Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina my complete and total endorsement,” Trump said in a statement. “He is both an outstanding senator and person who works tirelessly for the people of his great state, and the USA. Strong on the military, law enforcement, loves our vets, protects our Second Amendment and our borders. Tim will continue to do an OUTSTANDING job for our country!”

Former President Trump is a big believer in loyalty, and views Scott as loyal to him especially because Scott was one Republican who seemingly refused to publicly condemn him after the 2020 election.

But Scott, a first-term senator, has been extremely critical of Trump’s rhetoric in the past.

In 2017, Scott bluntly criticized Trump for accurately assigning blame to both sides in the Aug. 12 protests, sparked by Charlottesville officials’ decision to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

That remark, Scott said, compromised Trump’s moral authority as president.

Outside of rumors swirling recently suggesting that Tim Scott badmouthed Trump privately – likely about the election – Senator Scott is not conservative by any definition of the word, and he’s definitely not a truth-teller.

There’s a reason why he is praised by the New York Times:

“After years of silence, he has spoken publicly on the Senate floor about being racially profiled by the police as a senator on Capitol Hill. It fell to him in 2017 to privately counsel President Trump about the long history of racism. And last week, Mr. Scott was the one who stood up in a roomful of white Republicans and made a private pitch for a proposal that could answer the strident calls for change.

The emerging bill is expected to be far narrower than the sweeping law enforcement overhaul that Democrats have proposed and far short of what civil rights leaders say is necessary, but its very existence reflects a personal and political journey for Mr. Scott and his view of what can reasonably become law.”

Colleagues and close friends of Scott say his thinking on race began to shift in 2015, after his hometown, Charleston, experienced the shooting by a white police officer of an unarmed black man, Walter Scott, and then the shooing by Dylan Roof at Emanuel A.M.E. Church.

This was also around the same time that Black Lives Matter protests ramped up after the shooting death of Michael Brown, and the inception of ‘Hand up Don’t Shoot.’

Outside of the fact that it has been established that Brown never actually said ‘Hands up Don’t Shoot,’ and instead charged at the police officer after strong-arming a convenience store clerk, the mantra lives on to this day.

“We can all sense the opportunity that is before us,” he said on the Senate floor on Tuesday. “More than at any time I can remember, people of all ages and races are standing up together for the idea that Lady Justice must be blind,” Scott said.

In a response to former President Trump calling to replace the ‘ineffective and weak’ Republican leadership, Mitch McConnell said that the GOP is a progressive party that is looking to the future ‘not the past,’ and that if you would like to see the future of the GOP, look at Tim Scott.

Science Disproves the Black Lives Matter Narrative, but Does Tim Scott Care?

A key aspect of race-relations that is largely ignored by the media is the fact that more whites are killed by police than blacks. Do you know any of their names?

More importantly, FBI data show that for every 10,000 black Americans arrested for violent crime, 3 are killed, yet for every 10,000 white Americans arrested for violent crime, 4 are killed. Black police officer on black perpetrator accounts for many of the black victim of police killings as well.

Taking into account that blacks are far more likely to commit violent crime than whites, these figures, if anything, suggest an anti-white bias.

If we look at specifically unarmed black men shot by police, data from the Washington Post from 2016 shows that there were a total of 18. When comparing this data to CDC data that show other causes of death, it puts everything into perspective. There are more unarmed and armed white Americans killed by police annually, despite black Americans having 20 to 30 times the amount of police encounters due to their crime rates being vastly higher. Finally, many of the unarmed black Americans shot by police, were shot by black police officers.

A Long List of Scientific Papers Disprove Racial Bias in Police killings, but Does Tim Scott Care?

Lott and Moody (2017), Using one of the most comprehensive list of police shootings compiled, finds blacks suspects are not more likely to be shot by white officers than blacks after controlling for a whole host of variables and finds no support for racially based discrimination by white officers.

Cesario et al. (2018) – We know blacks are over represented compared to their % of the population in police killings, but that isn’t the right benchmark. Blacks also commit more crimes which makes them more likely to find themselves in scenarios involving police, and that alone means they’re more likely to “act out” and lead to a justified police killing. Using various metrics of crime (murder, violent crime, weapons violations), and looking at all fatal shootings, they found a consistent anti white bias in police shootings. Disaggregating the data and only looking at unarmed victims shows blacks still usually not being discriminated against and, in fact, being shot less than you’d expect.

James (2016) did a lab experiment with police officers and found officers took longer to shoot blacks than whites in their scenarios (1.09 to shoot a white, 1.32 seconds to shoot a black), and they were more likely to wrongly shoot nonaggressing whites than nonaggressing blacks.

Johnson et al. (2019) looked at 2015 data and found that black and white cops were equally likely to shoot blacks.

Fryer (2016, revised 2018) found no racial bias in police shootings, though he did find bias in police use of force. The data was limited to Houston, though, and most studies on police use of force show no bias or even the reverse.

Goff et al. (2016) found no bias in police shootings but did find a bias in police force (like Fryer). However, when they controlled for violent crime, whites were actually more likely to experience use of force than blacks were.

Black Lives Matter Has Caused Tens of Thousands of Extra Homicides to Occur in 2020

In cities like St Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, New York, and Chicago, around 80 to 90% of all gun homicide is committed by Black Americans, with other Black Americans victimized by these crimes.

According to the CDC, across the country, Black Americans have a 20 to 30 per 100,000 homicide rate versus a 2 per 100,000 homicide rate for White Americans.

In St. Louis and Baltimore for example, the Black crime rate is so high that these cities are more dangerous than many third world South and Central American cities.

Homicides in major cities including Baltimore are not race neutral. Of the more than three hundred people killed in the streets of Baltimore in 2019, just about all of them were Black Americans. The shooters were all black as well.

This crime problem affecting mainly Black communities is only getting worse as police pull out of these areas because of the media and every institution affirming the statistically false narrative of the Black Lives Matter movement.

In 2020, the murder rate jumped back to 1990’s levels, leaving approximately an additional 5,000 to 8,000 Black Americans dead.  Because police are now transferring into the suburbs at the highest rates in history, as well as retiring early at record levels, the homicide rate in 2020 reached 6.2 per 100,000 people, and it’s probably much higher than that.

Thirty four of America’s largest cities have suffered a 30 percent increase in homicides in the year of 2020, according to a survey, with police in four Midwestern cities reporting increases of more than 60 percent over 2019.

In Milwaukee, homicides rose from 97 to 189, a 95 percent increase. In Louisville, homicides increased from 90 to 173, a 92 percent increase.

The Minneapolis Police Department has been making an average of 80% fewer traffic stops each week since May 25, the day of Floyd’s death, according to an analysis by Bloomberg CityLab.

Stops for “suspicious vehicles,” which means pursuit of vehicles thought to be involved in a crime, dropped 24%. “Suspicious person” stops were down 39% since May 25.

All across the nation, police are either retiring or transferring at the highest rates in history, many anonymously citing the Black Lives Matter riots and state and local government action that follows, making it impossible to do their jobs in black areas.

Police retirements in New York City have surged dramatically in the wake of widespread Black Lives Matters protests that began in late May 2020.

The New York Post reported that the NYPD has even taken steps to limit retirement applications, as they have surged 411 percent, compared with the same period last year.

This is happening in all of the largest cities across the country, leading to the under-policing of minority majority areas of the country.

In Minneapolis, blacks make up over 70% of all the suspects for violent crimes, but only 69% of the arrests for violent crime.  This means that black Americans in Minneapolis are statistically under-policed in the city, not over-policed.

This is consistently true for many other cities throughout the country.  In the city of Chicago, black Americans make up almost 90% of all of the gun homicides, yet only account for just over 70% of the arrest for gun homicide.

The true epidemic is the hundreds of thousands of violent criminals being released back onto the streets to commit crimes again.  District Attorneys like Chesa Boudin and others are responsible for these actions, but seemingly do not differ in ideology with Tim Scott when it comes to crime.

In New York City, more than 1,400 city inmates have been granted early releases due to concerns about the spread of coronavirus inside jailhouses.

The New York Post reported many of the newly released Rikers Island prisoners were rearrested for new crimes — and in some cases were cut loose again.

In June of 2020, a career criminal with more than 100 arrests to his name was busted for cruelly shoving a 92-year-old woman into a Manhattan fire hydrant — leaving his victim too scared to walk alone in her own neighborhood.

If anything, we need more law and order and more policing in these areas, not less as Tim Scott is Pushing for.

Black Americans Commit the Highest Rate of Hate Crimes, but Does Tim Scott Care?

The media also fails to mention that black Americans are vastly overrepresented among perpetrators of hate crimes—by 50 percent—according to recent Justice Department data from 2017; whites are underrepresented by 24 percent.

This is particularly true for the anti-Jewish hate crimes occurring mainly in New York City. Additionally, black Americans commit hate crimes at a rate that is three times higher than whites per 100,000 according to FBI crime data from 2016 and 2017. All of this data available, and yet the numerous congressional hearings on “White Nationalism” may have made you believe otherwise.

Black Americans are also more than twice as likely to be in a hate group than white Americans, according to the SPLC’s own data. They state on the website that “The black nationalist movement is a reaction to centuries of institutionalized white supremacy in America,” which supposedly justifies their actions.

Black Americans Also Commit the Majority of Mass Shootings, but Does Tim Scott Care?

The standard definition of a mass shooting prior to 2013 was when three or more are injured or killed. In January 2013, less than a month after 20 children and six adults were fatally shot at Sandy Hook elementary school in ConnecticutBarack Obama signed legislation that defines a “mass killing” as three or more people killed in a single incident.

Mother Jones, a news organization that tracks mass shooting incidents, conveniently excludes shootings that result gang activity. They stopped updating their database early in 2020 when four of the last seven mass shooters turned out to be Black Americans.

The other databases recognize these instances but diverge when it comes to gang shootings and other nonfatal gunshot injuries.

The Gun Violence archive database uses the standard definition of three or more injured or killed, and includes gang shootings. Approximately 90% of these shootings are committed by Black males, and overwhelmingly victimizing other Black males.

In Chicago, there is an epidemic of gang members committing mass shootings at the funerals of their rival gang members, attempting to kill as many family members of their rivals as possible.

According to the standard definition, these would be considered mass shootings, but on many databases they are not.

But even if we were to use the Mother Jones database only, you will find that the only group that is overrepresented in that database compared to their population percentage are  Black males.

A 17-year-old suspect, Jamel Barnwell, was recently on the run after the shooting at a bowling alley in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania in February 2021.

The 17-year-old wanted for murder in a shooting at an East Norriton bowling alley that left a Philadelphia man dead and four others injured turned himself in, according to police at around 11 p.m. on February 22nd.

This news story, and countless others like it, are absent from national mainstream media headlines, due to the fact that the shooter was not white.

If Mother Jones was still recording mass shootings in America on their database, this shooting as well as several others like this one that have happened over the past year would have been included.
