Gab, one of the leading Alt Tech platforms, was hacked on February 28.
The hackers are allegedly promising to release all sorts of information ranging from messages, passwords, and private posts.
The group of hackers, “DDoSecrets” claims to have obtained 70-gigabytes of data. These hackers have called the hack “Gableaks”.
Of the information obtained in the hack includes data that allegedly belongs to former President Donald Trump, in addition to an account that belongs to Gab CEO Andrew Torba.
In a correspondence with Wired, DDos co-founder Emma Best said that the data “contains pretty much everything on Gab, including user data and private posts, everything someone needs to run a nearly complete analysis on Gab users and content.”
“It’s another gold mine of research for people looking at militias, neo-Nazis, the far right, QAnon and everything surrounding January 6,” Best asserted.
Gab eventually released a statement claiming that it is”aware of a vulnerability” on its platform and that it was able to fix it.
According to Torba, Wired was “in direct contact with the hacker and [was] essentially assisting the hacker in his efforts to smear our business and hurt you, our users.”
Torba described the individuals behind the hack as “mentally ill tranny demon hackers”, and even went as far as to suggest that they are “The same people” who “targeted law enforcement officers and their family members last summer.”
On top of claiming to have data on Trump, the hackers allege to have acquired the passwords of Alex Jones, Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.
According to the Summit, there are claims that neither Wired nor DDoSecrets have made attempts to decrypt the passwords, or tried to access the accounts.
The masters of the universe at Big Tech don’t want any competition from Alt Tech and will do what it takes to crush the competition.
And that means crushing competitors by using under-handed schemes. Any serious competitor to Big Tech must be prepped for all the crap that the ruling class will throw at it. Torba’s Gab seems to be ready, but this incident should serve as a lesson to others who enter Alt Tech. You must be ready for everything the ruling class will throw at you.
