“Fakebook?”
In attempts to research a few topics I was writing about, I casually strolled over to Drudge Report’s Facebook page to find a particular article I had seen there the night before. To my immediate surprise, I noticed I could not locate the page anywhere. Not in “pages,” not in “people,” not in any category Facebook has listed or mentioned.
My first thought was that there must be some mistake, so I shut down my phone and restarted it to find that still, Drudge has been wiped off the face of the Facebook earth completely.
Has Drudge Report been banned from Facebook? Or was this never his page at all? Did Matt Drudge shut his own Facebook page down?
I wouldn’t be surprised if “cucker-berg,” did shut down Drudge’s page. Facebook has been announcing about new updates that have been made to Facebook, that were disguised as “good for all,” but really they’re just algorithms to to shut down conservative pages.
Matt Drudge Claims There Are Counterfeit Pages On Facebook That Aren’t Him
Recently Matt Drudge fired off a fiery tweet stating that “Facebook counterfeits Drudge Report, these are not me! Fake News? Ha! It’s Facebook.” This tweet received thousands of retweets and and likes almost instantly. So was this the page that Matt Drudge was mentioning? If so does this mean he doesn’t own a Facebook page at all? The rest of the pages up there are clearly fake with very few followers and are still there.
It’s definitely very strange to think that Facebook would allow a ‘fake’ page to get 1.2 MILLION follows over the course of several years and not take it down. The articles that the page posted were the same articles from his website so this leaves a very strange feeling for sure. Especially considering the fact that I have followed that page for years.
Facebook’s Censoring Of Conservative Pages Disguised As “Quality Updates”
Facebook recently changed the way it’s newsfeed system works by ranking what Facebook determines as “true” higher up in people’s feed, and what it ranks as “fake news,” or “misleading,” lower in followers’ feeds.
Facebook recently wrote on an official blog post the following:
“Today we’re announcing two updates to better rank posts in your feed,”
Facebook recently added markers to to each post that correlate factors like the source of the page. The two updates include “incorporating new signals to better identify and rank authentic content” and “a new way to predict and rank in real-time when posts might be more relevant to you,” the post says.
Really its just more fascism and shut down of free speech.
