Yes, you read that correctly. Trump would NOT have won the election, if it weren’t for the Latino vote. As much as people like Van Jones and CNN would like you to believe, the “racist” rural white vote was NOT the cause of Trump’s overwhelming victory over Hillary Clinton.
Trump won 30% of the national Latino overall, but what led to his victory in Florida and ultimately his election win, was that 1 in 3 Latino voters in Florida “pulled the lever” for Donald J Trump. The new president elect received around 260,000 latino votes in florida which were comprised mostly of Puerto Ricans and Cuban Americans. He only won the state by 119,000 votes.
CNN’s Randi Kaye went to a Cuban diner in Orlando to get the Latino reaction to a Trump victory. CNN found that Latinos in Florida have a problem with people illegally entering the country, one legal immigrant said, “I came through the front door.” One person interviewed expressed excitement for a border wall while another and declared “the silent majority” has won.
The stunned CNN anchor said Florida Latinos “loved that he isn’t politically correct.”
“The bottom line is that they broke the law. When I came to this country, I came through the front door,” Juan Torres, a Trump voter, told the CNNer.
“Do you think everyone should go through the front door as you say like you did?” the CNN correspondent asked.
“If you go to somebody’s house, you go through the front door,” he responded.
Furthermore, he turned counties Red in Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania that haven’t been Red for decades. In blatant contrast to what most of the media is trying to say about why Trump won, these are voters that voted for Obama in both 2008 and 2012. Notice the flipped counties:
