“The Company You Keep”
Bilal Ahmed, a childhood friend of the Manchester bomber, Salman Abedi, is currently serving a nine-year prison sentence for luring a young 16 year old girl into a motel room and gang raping her with several other friends.
The old rundown motel was in Rusholme, according to the Daily Mail, where the group found an unlocked room where they reportedly forced the girl into, and took turns raping her.
According to the Daily Mail and those close to the case, Bilal Ahmed blew a kiss at the victim’s mother and father in the courtroom, shortly before sentence was delivered.
The victim told the Daily Mail that she ‘kept quiet during the terrifying attack because she feared the consequences of protesting.’ She continued – ‘Any one of them could have had a knife. Nobody else knew I was there. I kept thinking they could kill me and nobody would know.’
The girl’s mother said: ‘By supporting them in this way, they are condoning what happened. No wonder so many people are too scared to go to court in rape cases if this is what you have to go through.’
Abedi’s younger brother Hashem (pictured below) has also also been arrested in Tripoli, Libya, on suspicion of having links to the ISIS, that claimed responsibility for the atrocity.
