Chicago Students Trash Walmart During Walkout Protest, Throw Items At Shoppers – Walmart Employees Report Hearing Gun Shots In Parking Lot During Rampage

Walmart Trashed During Political Walkout Protest In Chicago

CHICAGO: Chicago police are trying to identify around 60 students from Simeon Career Academy who went one an extremely damagin spree while they were supposed to be protesting guns Wednesday.  More shockingly, several Walmart employees has reported that they also heard gunshots outside during the rampage and that some of the students were throwing smoke bombs.

One Walmart employee and eyewitness provided a statement to The Red Elephants.  “These guys jacked up our store pretty good. They pounced on cars in the lot, Vandalized two of the school busses parked there , threw Gatorade bottles at shoppers, Smoke bombs, and we heard gun shots in the parking lot, he said.

Shoppers and store employees were stunned by the level of destruction they left that morning at the Walmart in Chatham Market on the South Side.

One Walmart employee, filmed the aftermath and posted in to Facebook.  “This was the students from Simeon High School,” she said during the live stream.

Chicago Police say around 60 students crossed the street and trashed the store, knocking over product displays, yanking items off shelves, breaking packages and stealing several items as they ran through.

In a statement to a local Fox station, a Chicago Public Schools spokesperson says: “We are very concerned by these allegations and we are reviewing the matter.”

The 21st Ward Alderman Howard Brookins also supplied a statement to the local station. “We’ve worked too hard to try to get these national retailers here in our community. And this doesn’t help us. It makes no sense to tear up the community which you call home,” he said.

A Chicago police spokesman says they’re reviewing what he calls “high quality” video surveillance from Walmart to identify the students at fault, as well as videos posted to social media.

He says those students will likely be charged with misdemeanors and face discipline from the school.

This isn’t the only negative effect of these political protests promoted and encouraged by schools across the country however.  At Antioch high school near Nashville Tennessee, students bursted out of the school doors, ripped the American flag off the flagpole on campus while fight subsequently ensued during their ‘walkout’ protest.

This could have turned deadly for a lot of people real quick.  One sided biased political protests, encouraged by high school and grade schools, probably isn’t such a great idea.
